However I would argue that the way it is used – and the topic of this blog offers an excellent example of it – is often (fortunately no always!) linked to political interests, more or less hidden agendas and that the central aspect that needs to be challenged, that is the way language operates as an instrument of power, remains unsaid and un-interrogated. This should invite us to constantly question the underlying ideologies beyond this type of discourses, who produces it, for what purposes and with what consequences for whom?
