I was wondering that she was even speaking better than me as a native persian speaker but she told me : She is simply using Google translation tool ! Kinda fun !

” Facts!. They demanded facts from him, as if facts could explain anything”.

I agree with your analysis that the underlying assumption seems to be a world of discreet languages where people speak one lanuage at a time and the presuppostions about multilinguals as ‘ combination of two or more monolinguals’ . The basis of the data i.e language users’ language settings make the whole fact-finding excercise stand on a very week ground.
