I am a Hindu Indian. We Hindus believe that Iran or Persia was part of ancient Hindu/Arya empire. We also blame the British,Europeans and Islam for distorting the ancient history of the east which were part of the Hindu Arya empire.

I attended your seminar today about australian language and Identity in Tmu university and enjoyed it even though I study engineering which is not really a related subject .It was a superb exprience ! as an iranian which has studied english a few years ago (now 18 yo) I make better connection to the language than persian . for example I write english poems non-professional ones of course but still I think I can`t even do that in persian .I have mentioned the Link of my blog where my poems are written here ,I`d be happy to see your comments if possible .

Thank you !

It was a pleasure meeting you !

A very thought provoking post which highlights less explored epistemological sites for applied sociolinguistics. I like the reconstruction of linguistic diversity on the basis of inscriptions on stones. Very different, powerful and legitimate source of knowledge . Thanks very much indeed.

I never paid attention to this relationship between language and the monuments you have mentioned in your post and it was very interesting for me.

Thanks for your great inclusive post!
As I read it I learned so many things that I, as an Iranian, did not know about the history of Persepolis.
Looking forward to read and learn more!
