Sigurd D'hondt

Sigurd D’hondt studied African Languages and Cultures at Ghent University (Belgium) and obtained a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Antwerp (2001). He currently holds an associate professor position at the University of Jyväskylä (Finland), in the context of the RECLAS profiling initiative. His research interests include interaction in legal settings, face-to-face interaction in Kiswahili, and the analysis of political discourse. He is the PI of the project “Negotiating international criminal law: A courtroom ethnography of trial performance at the International Criminal Court” (Academy of Finland, 2019-2023).
