Next Generation Literacies is an international network of researchers working at the intersection of social participation and linguistic diversity.
Based on the trilateral partnership of Fudan University (China), Hamburg University (Germany) and Macquarie University (Australia), Next Generation Literacies brings together an interdisciplinary group of established and emerging researchers. We focus on the role of language in mediating access to education, health, employment, law, and other social goods.
Next Generation Literacies is part of Hamburg University’s “Next Generation Partnerships” program and funded for three years from 2021 to 2023. The leadership team of Next Generation Literacies consists of Professors Ingrid Gogolin and Sílvia Melo-Pfeifer (Hamburg University), Ingrid Piller (Macquarie University), and Yongyan Zheng (Fudan University).
