Setsuko Yanagisawa

In the 1980s Setsuko Yanagisawa came to Australia to see the world outside Japan and to improve her English. She worked for a local tour company for ten years throughout the Australia boom among Japanese tourists before she left for Denmark with her ex-husband. With cooking her real passion, she spent a year in France learning French cuisine. When her marriage broke down, she returned to Japan and learned flower design, and against her parents’ wishes moved back to Australia on her own to start a new life. While working for a flower company in the CBD in the early days of her second stay, she met Ben, an Italian-Australian who became her future husband. Together they opened Yuga Floral Design Café in fashionable Glebe, Sydney. “P stands for passion for Italians but for patience for Japanese”, says Setsuko in this interview video.

今回のJapanese on the Moveに登場して頂くのは柳沢勢津子さん。「日本の外にある物を見てみたい 」という願望、そして英語習得の夢を叶える為1980年代に来豪した。シドニーのツアー会社で10年間働いた後、当時の旦那様の転勤でデンマークに。現地では翻訳者として働いたが、料理の道が諦められずフランスで修行を積んだ。離婚が成立後ご両親の心配もあった中、オーストラリアに単身で戻り新しい生活を始めた。シドニー中心街にあるフラワーショップで働いていた時に出会ったのが現在の旦那様、ベンさん。イタリア系オーストラリア人で柳沢さんと一緒Yuga Floral Design Cafeをオープンし経営されている。イタリア人にとってのPは「パッション」、日本人にとってのPは「ペイシェンス（辛抱）」など、ビデオの中でご夫婦の会話についてお話してくれた。
