The Language on the Move team is getting ready to take a break over the Festive Season and we wanted to share a review of this year’s research blogging with our readers. Please browse through the list below and enjoy a year’s worth of reflections on intercultural communication, multilingualism and language learning in the contexts of migration and globalization. We have had another truly global year and this year’s writing has taken us across Asia from Turkey to Japan and many places in between, across Europe from Scandinavia to Spain and many places in between, across the Americas from Uruguay to USA, and, of course, around Australia.
We started the year with a collection of proverbs about language learning and the gaining of wisdom and looking back over those proverbs seems like a good way to end the year. Or you might want to go back a bit further and read how people in Nicaragua celebrate the December holidays – a topic we covered in 2012.
We wish all our readers peaceful holidays and a happy, healthy and prosperous 2015. Please come back in the New Year for another round of diverse, stimulating and engaging essays in sociolinguistics.
